Teacher Agreement
Last updated: 8 October 2026 · Version 1.1
This agreement sets out how teaching on Nattive works: how you get paid, what we expect of you and what you can expect of us. It applies to everyone who teaches on Nattive.
1. Parties and scope
This agreement is between you and Fasttrack Pumps Limited (trading as Nattive), registered in England and Wales, company number 16294467, registered office Kinetic Business Centre, Theobald Street, Borehamwood, Herts, England, WD6 4PJ. “Nattive”, “we” and “us” mean Fasttrack Pumps Limited (trading as Nattive). “You” means the person who applies to teach.
To teach on Nattive, you must hold a teaching certificate (such as CELTA or TEFL) or a degree, from any country, send us proof when you apply, and be approved by us. In this agreement, “teacher” means a person who meets these conditions.
This agreement applies alongside our Terms of Service, which bind everyone who uses Nattive. If the two differ on a point about teaching, this agreement wins.
You accept this agreement when you submit your application. It applies from then, and while you teach on Nattive.
2. You are independent
You teach on Nattive as an independent contractor. You are not our employee, worker, agent or partner, and nothing in this agreement makes you one. You choose when you are available, which lessons you offer and how you teach them, within this agreement and our Community Guidelines. You are free to teach elsewhere, as long as you keep to section 7 with learners you meet on Nattive.
Because you are independent, we do not give you a salary, holiday pay, sick pay or a pension, and we do not guarantee you any number of bookings.
3. Your tax and legal obligations
You are responsible for your own tax, including income tax and any social security or VAT that applies to you where you live. You are also responsible for any licence, registration or permission you need to teach from where you are.
We may have to report what you earn through Nattive to HM Revenue & Customs or another tax authority, where the law requires it. Our Privacy Policy explains this.
4. Your rate and our fees
- You set your rate. You choose the price in GBP for each lesson you offer. All rates and payments on Nattive are in GBP.
- Our platform fee comes off your rate. We keep a percentage of your rate as our platform fee. Your current percentage is shown in your account. It can differ between teachers, and we may change it. If we do, we will tell you before the new percentage applies to new bookings.
- The impact fee is added to the learner’s price. On top of your rate, the learner pays an impact fee. It pays for free group English classes for learners in some countries (the Classroom). It does not come out of your rate or your share.
- The fees on a booking are fixed when it is made. Your rate, the platform fee and the impact fee that apply to a lesson are the ones in force when the learner books. A later change does not affect lessons already booked.
- Payment processing fees, including Stripe’s, come out of our platform fee, not your share.
5. How you get paid
We take payments and pay teachers through our banking partner, Stripe, using Stripe Connect. When a learner books you, they pay the full price through Stripe, and your share (your rate less our platform fee) goes into your Stripe account straight away. We hold it there until the lesson is over: once you and the learner both mark it complete, or 3 days after the lesson if no one reports a problem, we release it and Stripe pays it to your bank. While a reported problem is open, we hold your share until we have decided. If a lesson is refunded under section 6, your share is taken back from your Stripe account.
You must finish Stripe’s onboarding before learners can see or book you. Stripe checks your identity and your bank details, and the account must be in your own name. By using Stripe you also agree to Stripe’s own terms. If Stripe cannot verify you, or pauses your account, we cannot pay you until it is resolved.
If a learner moves a lesson, its price and your share stay the same. When a lesson is 24 hours or more away, a learner can move it straight away to another time you have open. Less than 24 hours before, they can only ask: you may accept or decline the request, and if you do not answer in time it lapses and the lesson stays at its booked time. A lesson can be moved at most 2 times. Section 9 of our Terms of Service has the full rules.
6. Cancellations and no-shows
The cancellation rules in section 8 of our Terms of Service apply to every lesson. In short:
- If you cancel a lesson, the learner gets a full refund and you are not paid for it.
- If the learner cancels 24 hours or more before the lesson starts, they get a full refund and you are not paid for it, unless the lesson has already been moved 2 times. Then they are charged in full and you are still paid.
- If the learner cancels less than 24 hours before the lesson, or does not join, you are still paid.
- After a lesson, the learner can confirm it or, up to 3 days after it ends, report a problem, for example that you did not join or left early. If they do nothing, the lesson is confirmed automatically after those 3 days. If they report a problem, we look into it and decide whether to refund them in full. If we do, the refund is taken back from your share, so you are not paid for that lesson.
Cancel only when you have to, and as early as you can. Frequent cancellations or no-shows break the standards in section 8.
7. No contact or payment outside Nattive
Our payments, protections and standards only work when lessons happen on Nattive. With any learner you meet on Nattive, you must not:
- share or ask for a phone number, email address, social media account or other contact details;
- arrange lessons outside Nattive, or move a lesson to another video app; or
- ask for or accept payment, tips or gifts outside Nattive.
Breaking this section is a serious breach of this agreement, and we may suspend or remove your account for it.
8. Standards
Learners pay for your time, and they trust you to show up. We expect you to:
- Be punctual. Join every lesson on time and teach for its full length.
- Keep your availability accurate. Only offer times you can teach, and update your calendar when your plans change.
- Be honest about your qualifications. You must hold the qualification you sent us. Your profile, languages and experience must be true.
- Treat learners with respect. Keep every lesson professional and suitable for the learner, and follow our Community Guidelines.
- Respect privacy. Do not record a lesson, or share anything a learner tells you in one, without the learner’s clear permission.
9. Your photo, bio and intro video
You keep ownership of your profile photo, bio and intro video. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, copy, crop and show them on Nattive so learners can find and choose you, including on the public listing that people see before they sign in. The licence ends when you remove the item or close your account, apart from the short time it takes to clear copies from our systems.
You confirm that you have the right to use everything you upload, that your photo and video show you and that none of it breaks our Community Guidelines. We may remove anything that does.
10. Ratings
After a lesson, the learner can rate it and leave a review. Your average rating and reviews show on your profile. You must not offer anything in return for a rating, post ratings about yourself or pressure a learner over a rating. If you think a review breaks our Community Guidelines, email privacy@nattive.app and we will look at it. We may remove a review that breaks them, but we do not remove a review only because it is negative.
11. Identity and further verification
Every application is reviewed by a person on our team before you can be listed. We check your intro video, your qualification and where you applied from. We may also ask you, at any time, to verify further with our banking partner, Stripe. While further verification is open, you are not listed and learners cannot book you. Our Identity and Verification Policy explains every check and what happens next.
12. Suspension and removal
We may suspend, restrict or remove your account if you break this agreement, our Terms of Service or our Community Guidelines, if we suspect fraud, or if your conduct puts other people at risk. Where we can, we tell you why. A location check that does not match the country you gave us is not a suspension on its own: it only means we need to check.
If you are found not to hold a qualification you claimed, we will remove your account and refund the learners who paid you. Where a breach is serious, we may also withhold payouts connected to it. If we remove your account, lessons you already have booked are cancelled and the learners refunded.
You can stop teaching at any time. Cancel or teach any lessons already booked, then delete your account in your settings once any payouts owed to you have been paid.
13. Teaching in the Classroom
The Classroom is where learners in some countries join free group English classes. If we offer you Classroom teaching, it is optional. When you claim a class, we show you the rate per class, and we pay you that rate for each class you teach, through our banking partner, Stripe. The rest of this agreement, including sections 7 and 8, applies to Classroom classes too.
14. Changes and governing law
We may update this agreement. If we make a material change, we will tell you before it applies and, where appropriate, ask you to accept it again. If you do not accept a change, you can stop teaching on Nattive. The version number and date at the top of this page show which version is in force.
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
