Identity and Verification Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026 · Version 1.0

Learners trust that the person they book is who they say they are, lives where they say they live and holds the qualification they claim. This policy explains the checks we run to keep that true, and what happens if we need more from you.

1. About this policy

This policy is published by Fasttrack Pumps Limited (trading as Nattive). It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies alongside our Teacher Agreement. How we handle the personal data these checks use is set out in our Privacy Policy.

2. Who must verify

Everyone who teaches on Nattive goes through these checks. Every teacher holds a teaching certificate or a degree and sends us proof of it. A person on our team reviews every application before a teacher can be listed or booked.

3. Qualification proof

When you apply, you upload a copy of your teaching certificate (such as CELTA or TEFL) or your degree. It can be from any country. A person on our team reviews it, and we may ask for a clearer copy or another document.

If you are found not to hold a qualification you claimed, we will remove your account and refund any learners who paid you, as our Terms of Service set out.

4. Your intro video

Every application includes a short intro video of you speaking to camera. It lets us see that you are a real person, that you match your profile photo and that you speak the language you want to teach. Once you are approved, learners see it on your profile.

5. The location check at application

When you submit your application, we record three things alongside the country you told us you live in:

  • your IP address;
  • the country that IP address points to; and
  • the time zone your browser reports.

We compare them with the country you claimed. If they do not match, the application is flagged for a person on our team to look at. The check is never automatic: a flag on its own does not reject your application or change your account. People travel, use a VPN or live near a border, and we take that into account.

6. Further verification

We may ask any applicant, or any teacher already on Nattive, to verify further with our banking partner, Stripe. You do this by completing Stripe’s identity and bank checks in your country of residence. Stripe confirms who you are and where you live, and tells us the result.

We may ask for this when, for example:

  • the location check does not match the country you told us;
  • details in your application do not line up; or
  • someone reports a concern about your identity.

While further verification is open, you are not listed and learners cannot book you. When you sign in, you see a screen that explains what to do next. If you gave the wrong country by mistake, you can correct it on that screen before you verify.

If you already finished Stripe’s checks before we asked, Stripe cannot run them again. In that case a person on our team reviews your account by hand and emails you.

7. A country mismatch is not a suspension

A location that does not match the country you gave us is not a suspension on its own, and it is never treated as misconduct. It only means we need to check. Suspension is for conduct: breaking our Terms of Service or our Community Guidelines.

8. What happens next

  • When Stripe confirms your details, your application or account goes back to our review team with the result, and we let you know the outcome.
  • If you live in a country where we cannot pay teachers yet, we will tell you, and you can join the waiting list for when we can.
  • If you do not complete verification, you stay unlisted, and we may turn down your application or stop you teaching on Nattive.
  • If we find that someone gave false details on purpose, we may remove their account under our Terms of Service.

9. Contact

Questions about a check, or think we got something wrong? Email privacy@nattive.app and a person on our team will look at it.
