The Nattive difference

As your language skills grow, so does the opportunity to learn

Every paid lesson helps build Classroom, Nattive’s funded English-learning programme. Our five-year goal is 100,000 hours of live teaching for learners in developing countries.

See the 100,000-hour mission

A £27.50 lesson includes £2.50 for the Classroom, enough to fund 6 minutes of teaching.

Based on a £25 teacher lesson price. The 10% Classroom contribution is included in the price you see and is never taken from the teacher's pay.

Common questions

Which French will I hear?
Your teacher's own. French in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Québec and West Africa shares one written standard; accents and some everyday words change, and Québec French is the one you'll notice most. If you're moving to Montréal or working with colleagues in Dakar, choose a teacher whose profile and intro video match where you're going.
I learned French at school. Where do I start?
School French is often more reading than speaking, so start by talking: short answers first, longer ones as the words come back. Pick the level that feels closest when you sign up and you'll see the French teachers who take learners there. Your teacher adjusts once they hear you speak.
Can I prepare for the DELF, DALF or TCF?
Yes. Tell your teacher which test you're taking and when. French universities often ask for DELF B2 or DALF C1, and Canadian immigration accepts the TCF Canada and the TEF Canada. Read profiles and intro videos to choose a teacher whose experience fits.
How are teachers chosen?
Teachers apply to teach on Nattive, and not everyone is accepted. We look at their teaching, and at something they've done to help other people. Each teacher's profile tells you a little about that.
Where does the 10% go?
10% of the teacher's lesson price, included in the one price you see, goes to Nattive Classroom. See exactly how funding works
