The Nattive difference

As your language skills grow, so does the opportunity to learn

Every paid lesson helps build Classroom, Nattive’s funded English-learning programme. Our five-year goal is 100,000 hours of live teaching for learners in developing countries.

A £27.50 lesson includes £2.50 for the Classroom, enough to fund 6 minutes of teaching.

Based on a £25 teacher lesson price. The 10% Classroom contribution is included in the price you see and is never taken from the teacher's pay.

Common questions

Will I learn Spanish from Spain or Latin America?
Either way, people will understand you. The differences are mostly accent, some everyday words and vosotros, which Spain uses and Latin America mostly doesn't. If you're heading to Mexico City or Madrid, look for a teacher from there: each profile shows the teacher's country, and the intro video lets you hear their accent.
I'm a complete beginner. Where do I start?
With the Spanish you'll use first: greetings, numbers, ordering food, asking the way. Spanish is mostly written the way it sounds, so you can read new words aloud early on. Choose A1 when you sign up and you'll see the Spanish teachers who teach beginners.
Can lessons help me talk with my partner's family?
Yes. Tell your teacher who you want to talk to and what about, and practise the conversations you'll really have: the introductions, the questions about your work, the fast back and forth at the table. A teacher whose Spanish is close to the family's will help with the accent.
How are teachers chosen?
Teachers apply to teach on Nattive, and not everyone is accepted. We look at their teaching, and at something they've done to help other people. Each teacher's profile tells you a little about that.
Where does the 10% go?
10% of the teacher's lesson price, included in the one price you see, goes to Nattive Classroom. See exactly how funding works
